Short-Term Rehabilitation
Short-term rehabilitation — or skilled rehabilitation — is something many people require when they're discharged from a hospital stay, but not yet ready to go home. It's most commonly needed after a prolonged illness or surgery, such as joint replacement. You don't have to be a client of IRC to rehab with us, as our services are available to the general public.
Short-term rehabilitation is designed to help you get well and go home as quickly as possible.
Short-Term Rehabilitation
The reality of rehabilitation after a hospital stay is made a little easier at IRC. We work alongside your medical team to make sure you receive exactly what you need to get back home quickly.
Our rehabilitation professionals specialize in orthopedic injury and surgery, stroke, neuromuscular insufficiency, and cardiac condition rehabilitation. With occupation, physical, or speech therapy options, our team will tailor a rehabilitation plan to your needs.

Sheltered Care
Sheltered care is similar to assisted living, with several additional features:
- 24/7 nursing care
- Accommodation of specialty diets
- Access to additional care as needed
- An all-inclusive rate
When assisted living is not enough care or the cost of home care is too much, sheltered care may be the answer.
Long-Term Care
When people think of long-term care, the term “nursing home” often comes to mind. It’s important to understand that, at IRC, long-term care is more than a bed in a hospital setting. Here, it’s a vibrant environment with a team of compassionate medical professionals and skilled caregivers who treat your loved one like family.
Long-term care is defined by top-of-the-line, compassionate care in a well-equipped, homelike setting. Our teams are committed to our clients and find great satisfaction in connecting with them and their families.

How much does it cost?
Short-term rehabilitation is typically covered by Medicare and supplemental insurance. Costs for sheltered care and long-term care are structured at a daily rate. Based on your needs and situation, your long-term care may be covered by Medicaid.
