Congratulations to Shannon Draayer, Director of Health and Well-Being for WesleyLife, for her inclusion on the Des Moines Business Record's 25th annual "Forty Under 40" list.
Comprised of 40 local business leaders younger than 40, the list's honorees "have demonstrated impressive career achievements and unparalleled community involvement," the Business Record's announcement says.
In a letter of nomination in support of Shannon, Sophia S. Ahmad, Vice President of Philanthropy for WesleyLife, recognized Shannon as "a community champion and advocate for health and well-being (who) successfully led the advancement of a $13 million project — WesleyLife's new Meals on Wheels campus — that is dramatically addressing food insecurity and social isolation among our community's most vulnerable older adults."
In another nomination letter, Ryan Arnold, Director of Community Engagement for Drake University, says Shannon's "vision for improved care of older adults and veterans in our community led to the redevelopment of 3206 University Avenue (the new Meals on Wheels campus). She has demonstrated passion to generate a more sustainable and holistic approach to nutrition assistance, and through her leadership and advocacy, the Iowa community is made stronger."
Along with the other nominees, Shannon will be profiled in the March 22 edition of the Business Record and recognized at this year's Forty Under 40 event on March 28.
Congratulations again to Shannon!
