We are delighted to introduce our new director of culinary excellence!Krista Adams joined WesleyLife this week with a decades-long history of culinary experiences, primarily in the aging-services and hospitality sectors. Most recently, she headed Local Stone, a culinary consulting company.
Prior to that role, Krista headed culinary efforts for Unidine/Compass Senior Living, Santa Fe Senior Living, and Healthcare Services Group, and worked as a sous chef for the Ritz Carlton and as director of culinary adventures for The Rock Ranch. She graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta.
Originally from Michigan and raised in Atlanta, Krista says she is excited to make Iowa her home.
"My dream is to have a farm with two cows and make my own butter, and as I was driving here to start this job, I thought, 'Well, maybe Iowa is the place!" she says.
Krista says although she has spent much of her career in the hospitality sector, the time she's spent in senior living has been her favorite. She has a passion for serving older adults, exemplified by her plans for WesleyLife residents across all levels of living.

"When people are in independent living, they're able to go anywhere and eat exactly what they want any time of day, but for residents in other areas of living, there are not as many choices," she says. "Those are the people I especially want to surprise and delight with what we'll be doing."
Krista began her new role September 3, and her office is in WesleyLife's organizational headquarters in Johnston.
