WesleyLife Wears Purple accent

June 19, 2015 | By

June 19, 2015 - WesleyLife team members, volunteers, residents and program participants statewide joined forces today to heighten awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, as part of the organization's WEAR PURPLE campaign. In addition to wearing purple, a number of public education sessions were held, including presentations by the Alzheimer's Association Greater Iowa Chapter and Beauty for Ashes Ministry.

An important aspect of the campaign is to help Iowans become aware of the many community resources that are available for caregivers and persons challenged by memory loss. Those services include WesleyLife's adult day centers in Des Moines, Washington and Newton; and its memory support apartments and secure memory care households for persons with advance-stage dementia.
