The certification process considered more than 1,000 team member surveys from across the organization’s locations throughout Iowa. The survey asked team members such questions as whether they feel the work they do makes a difference, and whether their contributions help advance the organization as well as the greater community.
“The survey tells us more than four of five people who work for WesleyLife consider it a great place to work, and our team members have one another to thank for creating an environment that helps us all do our best on behalf of those we serve,” Rob Kretzinger, WesleyLife’s president and CEO, said.
“We view our organizational culture as critical to the success and effectiveness of WesleyLife, and we’re gratified that our team members know how much their contributions matter.”
WesleyLife employs more than 1,800 people in 15 locations across Iowa and into Illinois. Team members completed the Great Place to Work survey within the past few weeks, and Kretzinger said the results are especially meaningful given that staffing challenges remain in the healthcare sector and adjacent services due to COVID-19 and its aftermath.
“The fact that connections have remained strong tells me that our team members have been able to keep their focus on our mission and continue to provide quality care and services to the 8,000-plus residents and clients who count on us,” he said. “I can’t say enough about the quality of work our teams accomplish as they create experiences to enhance a sense of purpose, meaning, and joy in those we serve.”
Kretzinger added WesleyLife looks forward to using the Great Place to Work designation as a means of informing potential team members that the organization emphasizes the importance of positive workplace culture and provides each team member with the tools to find meaning in their work.
