ATLANTIC, Iowa – June 10, 2015 – Heritage House broke ground today on a major community investment project that will transform its campus in Atlantic.
Heritage House has been serving the Atlantic community for over half a century with exceptional senior living and healthcare services, as part of WesleyLife, a nonprofit organization devoted to transforming the aging experience.
Heritage House previously announced its plans for a $7 million campus transformation that includes a new state-of-the-art Lifestyle Pavilion that will serve as a gateway to the “new” Heritage House. Under the roof, will be a wellness classroom, fitness center, salon and Heritage Hall for resident and community gatherings. Work will also involve renovations to the existing building’s kitchen, dining and community areas.
In addition, Heritage House’s three Health Center households will be renovated to provide residents with a more homelike environment, where individuals can gather for conversation and meals in an open kitchen/dining area. Other campus transformations include a sun porch and an extension of the walking trail.
Speakers at today's well-attended event were: Reverand Dick Hohl; Rob Kretzinger, WesleyLife president and CEO; Jody Lorence, WesleyLife Board of Directors secretary/treasurer; Nick Hunt, co-chair of the Heritage House Capital Campaign; William Reed, WesleyLife vice president of Philanthropy; Karen Bentsen, Heritage House executive director; and Atlantic Mayor Dave Jones.
Construction is set to begin on the project this summer.
